Driver Education Course Presentation
How much does the course cost?

The cost of the course is ninety pounds (£90 GBP), made payable to Leicestershire County Council. This fee is non-refundable.

Can I pay by instalments?

The course fee is a set amount and cannot be reduced or paid in installments.

Where will the course be held?

The courses are held at Driver Education Workshops, Bridge Business Park, Bridge Park Road, Thurmaston, Leicester, LE4 8BL.

When do the courses run?

Courses are run Monday to Friday, details as follows:

Occasionally an Evening and a Saturday AM course may be held and you may be offered this as an alternative to normal courses.

Please note late arrivals will not be allowed into the course as this causes disruption to the class.

What are the parking facilities?

Please note there is a onsite visitors car park at Bridge Business Park as shown on our map. Please allow sufficient time as you will have to make other arrangements should this be full.

Are refreshements and a meal available?

Beverages only, No meals will be provided during the course.

How many people will be on the course?

There may be approximately 20 people on the course.

What do I need to bring with me on the day?

Please ensure that you bring your full photographic driving licence with you. If your licence does not include a photograph please provide additional photographic evidence, such as a passport, or suitable alternative.

Can I change my course date?

Course dates can only be changed in exceptional circumstances. Evidence will be required in certain situations. If you are offered a new date no further dates will be offered thereafter.

What happens if I arrive late?

You must arrive on time for your course. Late arrivals may be refused entry and, unless under exceptional circumstances, will have their files returned to Leicestershire Constabulary and offer of a Speed Awareness Course withdrawn.

What happens if I leave early?

You are required to complete the full course. Failure to do so will result in your file being returned to Leicestershire Constabulary and offer of a Speed Awareness Course withdrawn.

What happens if I do not attend?

If you do not attend the course, and fail to provide evidence of exceptional circumstances, your file will be returned to Leicestershire Constabulary.

I don't live in Leicester; can I attend elsewhere?

Providing your chosen area caters fully for your needs, it may be possible to transfer your course to another area. For details of course venues, please visit driver-improvement.co.uk

Can I attend voluntarily?

At this time courses are only offered on a referral basis from the Police.

Do I need to inform the police I have attended?

No, the Driver Education administration team will update the National Driver Offender Retraining (NDORS) database with your attendance. Your Police force will be notfied accordingly.

I have special needs, can these be accommodated?

We can cater for most situations. Please provide the relevant information when booking your course or ring our office on 0116 305 8787, to discuss your needs.

If I offend again, will I be able to attend another course?

You cannot attend another course within three years of the original offence.
