How much does the course cost?

The cost of the course is one hundred and forty pounds (£140 GBP), made payable to Leicestershire County Council.

This fee is non-refundable.

Can I pay by instalments?

The course fee is a set amount and cannot be reduced or paid in instalments.

Where will the course be held?

The Courses are held at the Driver Education Workshops, Bridge Business Park, Bridge Park Road, Thurmaston,Leicester, LE4 8BL.

When do courses run?

This is a 1 day course and course days may vary throughtout each month.

What are the parking facilities?

There is an onsite visitors car park at Bridge Business Park as shown on our map. Please allow sufficient time as you may have to make other arrangements should this be full.

Are refreshments and meals available?

Beverages will be offered during the classroom element of the course. While a lunch break is scheduled, food is not provided. Attendees are asked to bring a packed lunch or they will have the chance to purchase a snack lunch at the venues used for the lunch break.

How many people will be on the course?

There may be approximately 18 people on the course.

What do I need to bring with me on the day?

It is ESSENTIAL that you bring:

Is a car provided?

Yes, a dual controlled car, fully insured will be provided for the course.

Some clients maybe required to use their own vehicle if it has been specially adapted for their needs. Please note that you will be required to bring your insurance documents with you on the day should you be using your own vehicle.

How much training is on the road?

The actual time may vary, but you will be trained by an Aproved Driving instructor for approxamatly 4 hours.

Some of the time will be as a passenger watching other people behind the wheel, as there could be upto 3 trainees in the car.

Can I change my course date?

Course dates can only be changed in exceptional circumstances. Evidence will be required in certain situations. If you are offered a new date no further dates will be offered thereafter. Please note a charge may also apply if we have to change your date.

What happens if I arrive late?

You must arrive on time for your course. Late arrivals may be refused entry and, unless under exceptional circumstances, will have their files returned to Leicestershire Constabulary and offer of a NDAC course, withdrawn.

What happens if I leave early?

You are required to attend the full course. Failure to do so will result in your file being returned to Leicestershire Constabulary and offer of a NDAC Course, withdrawn.

What happens if I do not attend?

If you do not attend the course, and fail to provide evidence of exceptional circumstances, your file will be returned to Leicestershire Constabulary and offer of a NDAC Course, withdrawn.

I don't live in Leicester, can I attend elsewhere?

Providing your chosen area caters fully for your needs, it may be possible to transfer your course to another area. For details of course venues, please visit driver-improvement.co.uk

Can I attend the course voluntarily?

At this time courses are only offered on a referral basis from the Police.

Do I need to inform the police I have attended?

No, the Driver Education administration team will update the (NDORS) National Driver Offender Retraining database with your attendance. Your Police force will be notified accordingly.

I have special needs, can these be accommodated?

If I offend again, will I be able to attend another course?

You cannot attend another course within three years of the original offence.
